On Wednesday, May 2nd, Borough President Helen Marshall visited 82nd Street to announce the news that Dunningham Triangle has been awarded a $200,000 capital grant for park improvements. Joining the announcement were Council Members Julissa Ferreras and Daniel Dromm, Small Business Services Commissioner Robert Walsh, and Queens Parks Commissioner Dorothy Lewandowski. Also in attendance were represetnatives from surrounding businesses, including the Sewing Outlet, Jackson Heights Cinema, Limoncello Restaurant, Mango Grocery, and Skate Shop. The $200,000 award, contributed jointly by Borough President Helen Marshall and Mayor Bloomberg, will be used to renovate the park into an active gathering place with tables and chairs.
